Venezuela (4-3).
Puerto Rico (4-3),
Nicaragua (3-4),
Colombia (2-5) and
Panama (2-5) rounded out a closely matched field outside of the Cubans.
Top performers for Cuba included Luis Casanova (.500, a tourney-high 16 R), Orestes Kindelan (.533, the leader with 16 hits, 7 homers and 20 RBI), Omar Linares (.497), Antonio Pacheco (.440) and Lourdes Gourriel (.524). Diego Raudez of Nicaragua was a one-man team, going 3-0.
