Fred Ackley had one win as a major league pitcher. It was on September 27, 1963 as a member of the Chicago White Sox against the Washington Senators. He pitched 7 solid innings, giving up 2 hits, 1 earned run, walking 4 and strking out 7. The White Sox won the game, 7-1. Hoyt Wilhelm was credited with a save in relief.

He is the other player on Steve Carlton's Rookie Card

Primarily wore number 18.
