The Greenville Drive began play in the South Atlantic League in 2006. They opened their first season in a brand new ballpark in downtown Greenville, South Carolina.
The Drive played the 2005 season as the Greenville Bombers. Prior to that, the club was known as the Capital City Bombers and the Columbia Mets.
