Before 1956 Season: Sent from the Salem (Appalachian) to the Kansas City Athletics in an unknown transaction.

December 14, 1960: Drafted by the Washington Senators from the Kansas City Athletics in the 1960 expansion draft.

October, 1961: Sent by the Washington Senators to the Cleveland Indians to complete an earlier deal made on September 6, 1961. The Washington Senators sent a player to be named later to the Cleveland Indians for Ken Retzer. The Washington Senators sent Chet Boak (October, 1961) to the Cleveland Indians to complete the trade.
